An imbalance in errant quotations?

In his June 7 news story about politicians who misquote theFounding Fathers ["Price of freedom on the Internet? Eternalmisquotes."], David A. Fahrenthold said that a search covering thepast two years "turned up at least 30 instances of politiciansmangling the words . . . of the country's founders."

Yet, eight of the nine politicians he cited were Republicans. Wasthere not one other Democrat whom he could cite? And if there wereno Democrats among those 30-plus instances, wouldn't a better storyhave been that Republicans are 30 times more likely than Democratsto botch a historic quote?
